Seeking to support the development of sustainable agriculture, Tunisian technology startup Robocare has leveraged artificial intelligence and advanced scanning techniques to create technologies that can optimize water resources and detect plant diseases.

According to the company, the AI-powered drones are equipped with unique cameras that can scan the plants, detect diseases, and help to reduce water wastage.

It said that drones- with a unique cameras, like MRI or X-rays which can scan all the plants and then give the farmer the condition of the vegetation on his whole land- could also be vital in the fight against climate change.

“Robocare gives solutions to the farmer using modern technology and AI by photographing all plants using the drone that has a spectral camera, “said co-founder of the start-up, Imen Hbiri.

Speaking further, she said, “We tell a farmer that a particular plant will get sick next week and that plant will get sick the week after,”.

She maintained that one of the start-ups’ most important goals is to reach the most significant number of farmers who in addition to their knowledge and experience with the land and soil, can use modern technology to overcome the problems of climate change, make better use of natural resources, think about the future generations and use sustainable farming techniques.

Story was adapted from the national news.
