To ensure the mitigation of the effects of climate change in the South-South region of Nigeria, Nurses Across the Borders International, a non-profit organization with incorporated trustees in Nigeria and the United States of America, has sought additional collaboration with the Delta State Government.

In a letter of appreciation addressed to the Delta State Government on the 21st day of November 2021, the group acknowledged the role of the state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, who had taken part in the just concluded United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (Conference of Parties, 27) which was held in Egypt.

Pastor Peters Osawaru Omoragbon, president and CEO of Nurses Across the Borders, stated that because the South-South region of Nigeria is particularly vulnerable to the climate change catastrophe, the organization would want to have an office there that would act as a hub for the region.

He said that it would also afford the NGO an opportunity to strengthen its existing collaboration, adding that there is a need to strengthen the relationship with an MOU for a more robust engagement that will draw a team of international experts to the state and support its good work.
