Pakistan: KP govt adds `Climate Change’ prefix in title of Environment Dept

To reflect its focus and priority in resolving issues connected to environmental deterioration brought on by climate change, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has added “Climate Change” to the name of its environment department.

A notice posted online said that the words “Climate Change” have been added to the title of the Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department.

Climate Change, Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department is the new name of the environment department.

Environmentalists applauded the move, calling it a positive step toward addressing climate change challenges in the province.

They noted that the name of the environment department has changed to reflect that climate change is now a top concern.
