The Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has commended the United Arab Emirates response to climate change.
In order to advance global efforts in this area, the Council restated its support for the UAE to host COP28 in 2023 and applauded the nation’s Net Zero 2050 strategic goal.
In the final communique of the GCC Supreme Council’s 43rd session, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia was commended for assuming the presidency of the meeting during its 43rd session.

The Supreme Council also expressed its gratitude to Prince Mohammed for emphasizing in his opening remarks the process of collaboration between the GCC countries in all fields.
Mohammed also congratulated Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the outstanding success of the FIFA World Cup 2022 while recalling the contributions of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed to the UAE and his sincere efforts to advance the council’s action.
