Kenyan President Ruto Establishes Climate Change Department

As part of efforts to emphasize the commitment of the government to safeguard Kenya against the negative consequences of global warming, President William Ruto has established a State Department for Environment and Climate Change.

The Ministry of Environment will house the new division.

A brand-new Executive Order that was issued on Monday contains the modification. The department of forestry will be housed inside the Ministry.

According to reports, the President has given Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua additional responsibilities in addition to his prior ones, including leading reforms in the coffee industry.

Musalia Mudavadi, prime cabinet secretary, will be in charge of managing the provision of government services.

Medical Services and Professional Standards will be the two-state departments under the Ministry of Health, each with a main secretary.

The Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry is composed of three state departments: Investment Promotion, Trade, and Industry.
