In opposition to the construction of a coal mine in the western community of Lutzerath, German climate activists will organize fresh demonstrations on Tuesday.

On its website, Ende Gelande, an environmental group, has declared that it will join forces with other activists to hold a demonstration against the village’s proposed demolition.

“We are not finished yet. Together with many other groups, we will continue to defend Lutzerath on Tuesday in a big action!” the group said.

The last activists were ejected from the village by German police on Monday, the sixth day of the operation to clear the protest camp.

According to activists on Twitter, two protesters who were camped out in an underground tunnel eventually left on their own.

The majority of the buildings in Lutzerath were no longer standing as the barricades and other structures continued to be destroyed.

In preparation for Tuesday’s protest, hundreds of climate activists have gathered at a protest camp in the nearby village of Keyenberg.
