Environment Minister, Climate Change urge protection of local biodiversity

Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani, Minister of Environment and Climate Change emphasized the value of fostering a culture of energy conservation and biodiversity, highlighting Qatar’s rich and diverse environment.

HE On February 26, the Minister gave a speech at the opening of an exhibition called Brooq – Arts and the Environment, which was put on by the Al Hosh Gallery in the Zekreet desert.

His Excellency noted that an exhibition is a brand-new form of contemporary local art that aims to promote the region’s environment and makes significant contributions to the public’s and visitors’ understanding of the rich biodiversity present in the local environment of Qatar.

He also noted that the exhibition features numerous eminent pieces of art that help spread the concept of environmental sustainability.

His Excellency called on the public and citizens to visit the exhibition as it contains all the services within creative ideas, pointing out that the ministry, by carrying out its role and vision, supports every national work carried out by the people of the State of Qatar, including artists and those interested in environmental affairs, to support and introduce the local environment.

HE the Minister noted that this year’s celebration of Qatar’s Environment Day will see many events that target all segments of society.
