The creation of the Climate Change Solution by Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN) has started, and it will incorporate scientific sensors inside submerged plant bodies along communication cables.

With the help of early warning signals and the ability to identify seismic and tsunami occurrences, the new generation of networks will help to reduce the damage that natural catastrophes do.

To enable scientists and researchers to analyze and comprehend the changes taking place in the ocean ecosystem, the system will offer real-time monitoring and data collection capabilities.

In turn, this will assist in making it easier to establish effective climate change mitigation strategies.

Alain Biston, ASN CEO stated in September 2020: “From now on, tackling climate change is an intrinsic part of our strategy and will drive our decisions.

“This approach will also be a catalyst for innovation and investment in the years to come”.

With the Climate Change technologies now in an active development phase, and cooperation in place with key scientific organizations, ASN insists it is committed to placing environmental challenges in the core of its strategy.
