Nine districts receive orange warning for heavy rain in Odisha

An orange warning for heavy to very heavy rains on Saturday was issued for up to nine districts in Odisha.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued the warning due to the Western Strom.

The orange alert was issued for the districts of Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, and Puri, according to weather sources.

In some areas of this district, winds are predicted to blow between 40 and 50 kmph.

The Meteorological Department said heavy rain is also expected in Cuttack, Jajpru and Dhenkanal.

According to the Department, some places in these three districts will likely receive 7 to 11 cm of rain and wind with a speed of 40 to 45 km will likely be experienced.

The Meteorological Centre has predicted lightning with thunder and rain in some interior and coastal districts on 19th March.

By 20th March, the amount of rain will gradually decrease and the weather will change again, the Meteorological Centre has informed.

On the other hand, Bhubaneswar will remain mostly cloudy and some places will receive thundershowers.
