Nigeria’s minister of science, technology, and innovation (STI), Dr. Adeleke Mamora,  says the country’s green energy policy will advance the industrialization agenda and ensure security for long-term growth while also helping to lessen the effects of climate change.

According to Mamora, the world’s nations are utilizing the new energy order, or greenhouse energy, which is being accepted by the world, to power their industrial activities with the Green House energy policy, which is a catalyst in lowering the threat of climate change.

During a recent visit by participants of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 45 2023 National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), which was held in Abuja, the minister made this statement. According to him, industrialization and the implementation of legislative measures to address climate issues have an impact on every nation because climate change is a global problem.

The minister noted that if there is a sincere commitment to the application of STI intervention programmes in the country, meaningful achievement in industrialization, climate change, and security would be achieved, according to a statement issued by the deputy director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Mr. Obed Atuora.

Mamora also stated that the Ministry, as a national custodian of all innovation matters in Nigeria is poised to transform the developmental paradigm of the country to a knowledge-driven industrial hub in Africa and reference point in the world.

He further said that the Ministry has made commendable and sustainable contributions to indigenous industrial development toward climate adaptation and mitigation, the statement said.

Also speaking during the visit, Minister of State for STI, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, said that the interest of the participants of the Senior Executive Course 45 2023 to interact with the Management of the Ministry will enable them to inform the public on the importance of STI in industrialization and climate change mitigation.

To this end, Chief Ikoh stated that the report of the participants of the course will improve the knowledge inputs and outputs of various Parastatals, Departments, and Agencies of government and the public towards green energy revolution and industrialization which will ensure speedy socio-economic development of Nigeria.

Earlier, the permanent secretary, Mrs. Monilola Udoh said that the ministry is working assiduously to ensure delivery on the mandates of its seventeen Agencies, especially in the areas of Industrialization, Climate change mitigation and Energy Security in Nigeria and the world in general.
