China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) stated on Monday that the country would continue its actions on protecting the environment and biodiversity.

A recently released paper with opinions on combating and regulating air pollution that was jointly issued by the MEE and other 14 departments was introduced by Liu Youbin, the MEE’s spokesperson.

The opinions cover the objectives, concepts, and specific tasks for combating these three types of pollution: air pollution, ozone pollution, and diesel truck emission pollution.

The procedure of the Green Shield campaign, which was originally established in 2017 and aims to crack down on unlawful activities in nature reserves and defend national ecological security, was also unveiled by Cui Shuhong, head of MEE’s Department of Nature and Ecology Conservation.

Cui noted that by the end of 2021, the effort had essentially stopped the trend of people encroaching on and damaging protected natural areas, adding that the government and local authorities would continue the fight to prevent this from happening.
