On the main roadway of the Odo Iya-Alaro Bridge inward Ojota, Lagos, workers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority moved floodwaters caused by rain into open drains.

It was a part of attempts to reduce traffic on the road, according to a statement released on Monday by Mr. Taofiq Adebayo, Director of the Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA.

Adebayo said that Mr. Lateef Kabir, a LASTMA officer, started the project after observing a major jam on top of the Odo Iya-Alaro Bridge, inside of Ojota.

He was commended by both private and commercial bus drivers for the idea.

The General Manager, LASTMA, Mr Bolaji Oreagba, however, called on members of the public, particularly the motoring public, to always comply with the directives of traffic officers and adhere to the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018.
