Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Global Coalition for Sustainable Environment, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has said that the coalition is collaborating with other professionals to create solutions to tackle the impact of climate change on the environment.

Iwuanyanwu who made this known on Friday at a meeting of the group in Abuja pledged to commit his resources to support actions that will help tackle climate change in the country.

According to him, the coalition intends to pursue a campaign for an eco-friendly environment that maintains a harmonious balance with human activities on a sustainable basis.

He noted that part of the strategies of the group was to carry out advocacies and awareness campaigns on the human activities that promote climate change and its negative effects on the environment.

“The idea was to strike a delicate balance between environmental exploitation by the present generation and preservation for the next generation to ensure friendlier ecosystem and sustainable environment while driving maximum benefits from our endowments,” he said.

Iwuanyanwu explained that the coalition was making plans to promote the best sanitation, hygiene and general public health practices and thus prevent widespread transmission of diseases.

“This will ensure a healthy populace who can further preserve the quality of the environment by averting the contamination and degradation of air, water, and land resources,” he said.
