Nigerian govt restates commitment to addressing ecological challenges

The Federal Government of Nigeria has restated its commitment to address ecological challenges in the country.

Malam Shehu Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary, Ecological Project Office (EPO), made this known shortly after inspecting the ongoing ecological project sites in Kano on Tuesday.

According to Ibrahim, EPO will continue to efficiently utilise available resources to sustain the federal government’s policy drive to reduce the ecological challenges in the country.

He said that the visit was to inspect projects and ensure effective supervision, monitoring and evaluation of approved ecological projects in the state.

Noting that some of the projects were a result of the appeal and complaints made by the residents of the affected areas on the need for government intervention, Ibrahim said that the intervention was part of the government’s quest to deliver its promises.

Some of the residents applauded the commitment of President Buhari’s administration to bringing succour to them through the intervention projects of EPO.
