Veteran actors, including Jide Kosoko, Adewale Elesho, and Fausat Balogun aka Madam Saje have lent their weight behind the Lagos State Government in its campaign against air pollution in the state.

The entertainers joined the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) team who recently extended its advocacy to Ibeshe, a coastal community in the Oriade Local Council Development Area of the State.

Speaking during the event, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dolapo Fasawe said that the agency has deployed different strategies to internalise the message of Clean Air among all residents using drama, poetry, board games and songs in an entertaining manner.

Fasawe explained that the choice of a coastal area as the location for the clean air advocacy was deliberate, considering the rising sea level which calls for serious attention and concerns from everyone around the globe.

“The State Government realised that in order to curb the trend of rising sea levels, urgent attention must be paid to global warming and climate change through constant advocacy and recycling of non-degradable materials,” she said.

On their part, the Nollywood stars said that they were ready to do whatever it will take to ensure that the fight against climate change Is won by the state government.
