Saudi Arabia’s energy minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, has said that decisions made by OPEC+ are not politicized and are based on market fundamentals.

He also noted that the group of oil producers is sufficiently adaptable to change policy as necessary.

Prince Abdulaziz made this statement while discussing the group’s decision to reduce its production target by 2 million barrels per day at a media forum in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh.

The cuts were agreed upon by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and allies, including Russia.

In a recent interview with Energy Aspects, Prince Abdulaziz reaffirmed that the choice was final for the remainder of the year.
