Following an hours-long downpour, hundreds of homes and commercial buildings in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, were flooded on Monday.
Following four hours of persistent, heavy rain that began at four in the morning, there was a flood.
The Mayo-Gwoi River, the Magami Bypass, and certain locations in the town’s suburbs were among the areas most heavily impacted by the flood.

According to reports, thousands of naira’s worth of household goods, including food and animals, were lost in the flood that hit more than 300 homes in the area.
A resident who is affected by the flood, Joshua Musa told our correspondent that his house and those of his neighbors were flooded, forcing them to evacuate for safety to a nearby primary school.
