Radford University has organized a one-day worldwide teach-in designed to mobilize members of the campus and surrounding communities to engage in critical dialogue about climate issues.

The university will join hundreds of universities, colleges, high schools and faith-based organizations who are also taking part in the teach-in, which is expected to take place on Wednesday, March 30 with events scheduled on Radford University’s campus from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Heth Lawn.

The event will take place in line with the University’s goal to be a model of sustainability practices and policies and its Sustainability and Climate Action Plan reaffirms the university’s commitment to carbon neutrality.

Recall that on Nov. 13, 2020, former Radford University President Brian O. Hemphill signed the Carbon Commitment which recognizes the increasing pace and detrimental impacts of climate change and the need for colleges and universities to exercise leadership to address the problem.

The commitment is aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2040 and integrating sustainability and climate action into the university curriculum and culture.
